400 trans kickdown
I am looking to see if anybody has a kick down for a 400 transmission? I was told that they were used starting in 1966 in the Chevy and GMC trucks and I am using one in my 67 but I need the electric kick down switch. Thanks

Re: 400 trans kickdown
I've seen 67's with factory big blocks that had the 400 in them.

Do you have any pictures of the setup? I am putting this on a 90 TBI motor so I want to make sure it will work for me.

Re: 400 trans kickdown
Does the kick down mount under the hood? I have a 71 gas pedal with the kick down switch I was thinking of using but I then have to modify the firewall and the switch to use the cable instead of the rod.

Re: 400 trans kickdown
If you use the 71 pedal you can still get switch from GM, but to my knowledge the wiring is not available. The switch for the 71 /72 mounts to the pedal bracket and all brackets have the prevision for the switch. If you use the rod type then the kick down switch that mounts to the carb is the type you need. My set up is at the garage and I will have to go get it in the morning.
