Difference between utility & blazer buckets?

Can anyone explain the difference between these to me. Also did blazers come with these. I have a CST so what would have come in it. I have these monster seats in there now that are huge overstuffed and obviously not original. Any help is as always appreciated - Thanks Jason

Re: Difference between utility & blazer buckets?

Utility buckets have metal backs, and are wider.I find them (utility buckets) more comfortable than the others...My 72 blazer has the utility buckets.

Re: Difference between utility & blazer buckets?

Thanks 1969 I never see the seat covers on the on line stores for this model seat. So I'm guessing that they need to be recovered by an upholstery shop. Any other advice on what to do with a set of cores? Thanks -J

Re: Difference between utility & blazer buckets?

The utility buckets have a more square, wider back. I believe the seat bottom is the same because you can still put a console between utility buckets.

As for the seat covers, there were far less 69's with buckets (Blazers, Jimmy's, PUs and Burbs) than 71-72 so most of the repops are for the later years. I don't even know if you can get the factory pattern for the 69 buckets anymore, but a few calls to some board members will answer your questions. I recommend Wes at Classicheartbeat.com as he is a Blazer guy.

Re: Difference between utility & blazer buckets?

You can get covers for the CST style for the 69-70 era,but haven't seen any reproduced covers for the utility buckets,I've got cheap seat covers on my utility buckets..
