Question HEI Tach wire running??

Anyone have any idea where i need to run the Tach wire into the cab?? Is there a factory location that went into the fuse box, or did it just run through a rubber busing in the fire wall??

BTW i'm running a 455 buick HEI in a 69 CST10.

Re: HEI Tach wire running??

The factory tach has a double connection on the back of it. The wire off the dizzy ran to the connector then to ground I beleive. It's been awhile since I really looked at it. You may want to wait for a better answer.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: HEI Tach wire running??

I see how it plugs up, just not sure how it made it into the cab. I guess i can run it through one of the extra plug wholes in the main firewall conector behind the fuse box.

Re: HEI Tach wire running??

I ran mine up into the 'sill' at the top of the firewall and into other wiring I have running through there, then dropped it back down after it made if past the brake master and ran it through a body plug that had another wire running through it (right next to the fuse box). Then just spliced the original connector onto it, lubed the end of the connector with connector grease, and plugged it in. If you REALLY want, I could probably get a picture later, but just run it as clean as you can and you'll be fine...

OK I ran mine threw the opening where the old windsheild washer hoses came out. Sorry about that I didn't have a good understanding of what you wanted I guess.
