Re: 83 GMC Truck

Hmmm, that truck looks familiar. Didn't that belong to another board member who also had a black 68 stepside?

I think it was actually his brothers or dads.
But he also had (has?) an 86 or 87 black and silver GMC swb.

Re: 83 GMC Truck

Yes, my brother has the 68 stepside. It was black, but it's blue now. He also had an 86 GMC, but he sold it and bought a F*%d.

He needed the extended cab for family though. I still have to aggravate him though.

As far as plans, after I graduate hs I plan to lower it, (probably 2/4) install an aluminum intake and headers. The wheel and tires combo is 15x8 TTII's with 275/60/15 tires on all corners.

I have alot of other plans, but they might have to wait till after college. My brother said he will help me tune it out to get more hp after I'm out of high school. My dad still basically has the title, and it won't technically be mine till I graduate. Then it's MINE!!

Re: 83 GMC Truck

Thanks guys!!!
The engine is just a 350 creat moter from the dealership. It was originaly 305.
It is a daily driver and what was great about geting the create was "a three year or 100,000 mile warrenty!!!!!!!" That was worth the money I put in it. The holley 650cfm spread bore carb is a beast. since I went with the cast iron (peace of heavy crap or ****) intake manifold, Then I messed up the original Q-jet,(that was just rebuilt 4 years ago and, nothing wrong with it.) That holley carb was built to replace them so it was my best choice vs trying to find the right Q-Jet after 6 or 7 times of going and taking back.
Since the 700-4R Transmission is really tricky we were trying to keep it all stock with out having to madifiy anthing cause I was on a lower budget.
I am also going to put a 12 bolt 373 posi gear rearend to hold all that horse power that me and my brother are going to give it.

Re: 83 GMC Truck

It's about time you posted pics of that POS. j/k

It's a real nice truck fellas. His buddies at school make fun of him for buying an "old" truck. I used to get made fun of for having an ElCamino in HS, but every time I see someone from school, they ask me about it.
