choke hole plug in dash?

Does anyone know if there is a plug available for the manual choke hole? I'm not using it and the previous owner lost the knob, so I would like to plug it. Is there a source for a plug like this that would look kind of stock?

There are a few different styles of choke deletes. Once in awhile the show up on e-bay and i have seen a few on the board here.

Since it looks like it's out of the truck, why not replace it with a "non choke" bezel.
I know every body like OEM stuff, but you should be able to find a repop for $75, or less.

Just thought I'd toss my .02 in there.

Good luck on whatever you decide to do.

Re: choke hole plug in dash?

What is the diameter of the hole again? I don't recall. I found this push on type plug that looks like other knobs in the truck. I don't think it is a GM product, but I just want to see if it would work.

I think that plug is a Cig lighter delete plug.

I found the Brothers polished stainless steel protector: http://www.brotherstrucks.com/prodin...number=BR10035

I think black would look better, though.

Re: choke hole plug in dash?

You could always paint with some POR, don't think it would scratch off.

Re: choke hole plug in dash?

i happen to run across a website a couple days ago. this guy has a picture of a bezel off a 68 cst that has a GM plug over the whole said it was put in there at the factory so they could use the same dash bezel for electric and non electric chokes

this is what he said about it
This is the dash with the factory gauges and tach. Notice the GM plate on the right of the dash bezel. This was used to cover the choke hole in trucks with a 327 and a 4 barrel carb because they had an automatic choke.
