Re: Typical Seattle for sale ad...Caution!
Just so the ad lives on after it gets dropped from the list later
1969 Chevy C-20 3/4 ton full-size pickup truck - $1200 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reply to: sale-601903057@craigslist.org Date: 2008-03-10, 2:25PM PDT 1969 Chevy C-20 Pickup Truck V8 automatic; named "Mon-Starr" Frightens most children and many adults A few years ago I needed a truck to haul building material to my house and building junk away from it to the dump, so I got the white '69 Chevy full-size 3/4 ton pickup which came to be known as the MON-STARR! Mon-Starr actually runs pretty well and has been very reliable, but I'm not using it anymore, so it's time to sell it to someone else who needs it. It'd make a great occasional truck for large cargo runs, because it's huge, will carry a lot of weight without complaining, and is scratched up enough that you don't have to worry about marring a precious paint job, without any of the downsides of having actual body damage. Need to haul 1400 pounds of dirt for your garden? This is your truck. Includes: Bed liner, two spare tires (mounted on wheels), all-metal head-banging dashboard, 1980s radio and junky cassette player never used by me so I don't know whether it works, mirrored "Cool Hand Luke" sunglasses on dash (came with it), Harley-Davidson Sticker (came with it), queerbow on back window (my add), stares of amazement and ph33r on the faces of nearby pedestrians and drivers. Does not include: working turn signal lever (it broke off, but I still have it), warranty, or any sense of safety whatsoever. The extra-capacity (sidesaddle) gas tanks are offline and should probably be steam-cleaned before use, but you shouldn't fill those anyway unless you're into that whole dying-in-a-ball-of-fire-if-you-get-hit thing. It's been garaged the last few years with only occasional use. I've just had it serviced (radiator flush, oil change, all that), the brakes have a decent number of miles left on them, you might get the transmission fluid flushed the next time you change out the oil, and the automatic choke spring on the carburetor could use replacing. But in general, it's ready to go! Sure, I may make fun of it, but really? It's a pretty good old truck. Contact me (Dara) via the listed email address to meet the MON-STARR! in person! (I will consider reasonable alternative offers, btw, such as a trade for a small but nice metal-frame greenhouse in good condition, as long as you can transport it here. Possibly in MON-STARR! I've always wanted a cute little greenhouse. ^_^ )
