it`s offical, I own a 62 shorty
The guy even delivered it to my place. Well, to the place I have to store it for now. It`s a 62 shortbed big window. It was a fleet side but he took the bed for his 66 so I`m bedless but I`ll find one later. It`s got a 350/350 thats suppost to have 10k on a rebuild. Will probably run with a little work. I`m picking up a 5 lug set up from a 73-up truck so I can get rid of the torsion bar set up. It`s a project but I traded a welder for the truck, a older Lincold weld pak 100 and $100 cash. Was going to be more but i paid him for the gas and ended up giving him money for his old welder so I would have something to work with. I`ll post pics after I get them n my computer.

The spindles I have are disc spindles for the 60-62 front end Not sure if they would work on a late model front end or not.... I decided to keep mine stock height. I can adjust my height with my torsion bars if I need to and didn't want it slammed to the ground.... Besides it is cheaper for me to stay some what stock.... it's a personal choice..... let me know if you change your mind... Nice truck... good luck.... |

Looks like a nice project truck. Gotta love the wraparound windshield/BBW combo!

Re: it`s offical, I own a 62 shorty
I have a front bumper if you need one. It's not perfect but it's better than not having one. I'll be parting out a 63 longbed pretty soon as well.

How much for the bumper? painted or chrome? My front horns are messed up so I`ll be needed a pair of those. I figured I`d cut them back about 6" and just weld another set on.

Re: it`s offical, I own a 62 shorty
Make me an offer. It's painted. Unless I can get rid of the longbed chassis as a whole I can cut the hors off if needed.

Re: it`s offical, I own a 62 shorty
Don't think the 63 bumper will fit
pretty sure '63 used the later bumper(63-66) but if your doing frame horns anyway, make sure you get the correct ones for the bumper you've got. Hopefully someone can chime in to confirm this or? Thnks,T

Re: it`s offical, I own a 62 shorty
Nice '62! I like it... 60-62 trucks that used torsion bar front suspensions use a different front bumper. They are a little shorter and the frame horns are a little wider... Good luck!

Thanks for the input guys. Can I make the 63 bumper and framehorns work on my 62? I`m not going for a show quality original truck so a little mix match is fine with me as long as it`ll look right.

Bummer about the bed. Around here they are hard to find and when you do find one it is beat to a pulp.
