Hi, my name is Rooster and I am a c-10 junkie
HI, my name is Rooster and i recently purchased by first C-10. A 1982 Silverado with a 350. I purchased it to haul my motorcycles to states that aren't quite as flat as FL. I bought it for $400, i was going to clean it up a little and just use it on the weekends. i figured it would be about $1000 investment i could dump if i had too. Since the day i bought it i have done nothing but work on and day dream about it. I have not ridden my motorcycle, my girlfriend is ready to dump me and my productivity at work has plummeted. I get home from work and go directly to the garage to start working. I don't have much cash flow so i am doing what i can...mostly cheap labor intensive stuff right now.
So far i have spent most of my time on the interior, when i pulled the carpet it turned out the truck had a roach problem. Being from WI, i had no idea that you could have a roach problem in a car. I pretty much just gutted cleaned, painted, and replaced a few broken or missing pieces. I get most of my parts from the local pick and pull or Craigslist (CL). I am about to get started on the engine the coming weekends. As i find parts, right now im looking for a 600cfm edelbrook carb and maybe (if the price is right) intake. My water pump seal (i think) went this morning so i will be working on that tonight. Below are 2 exterior before and after pics. I will post more when i have the time.
