is this a common problem?

i just got my 70 c10 and it needs alot. i was playin around last weekend and found alot of bondo. which sux but its a 38 year old truck so. i wanted a project and i got one, lol... but i have a concerning area. there is rust on the top corner of the inside of the cab on the drivers side. is this common?

Not uncommon. You may have some about to pop through over the windshield too.

I have it. It can't be that uncommon. Some companies make a patch panel for the inside of the cab just above the winshield and it wraps around the side a little bit IIRC.

Cab roof or upper side of the windshield too common. Check also under all the seal lip. Plus under the sealant in the gutter near the drip rail another common spot.

yea ive found rust just about in all those spots. do u think it would be easier to fix my cab or try to find another?

how are the cab supports and floor boards. i'll bet if the cab is that rusty the floor boards are shot as well, unless someone has already repaired them.i would replace the cab if it was rusted everywhere..imo

yep, try to score a better cab if you can-- all those patch panels would turn into a ton of work

It is a common issue on the east coast. I would look for a better cab, unless the rest of it is very solid.

2017 Sierra 1500 SLT 4WD, Black, 45k miles, 5.3, 6L80E, 3.42 LS, 20" polished wheels, everything but moonroof and 6.2...

2019 Canyon SLT 4WD, White, 62k miles, 3.6, 8L45, 3.23 LS, 18" wheels
