Easter, nuts, bolts & ham (progress pics)

Well...my neighbor came over and we put the back half of the truck together. I got my father (overalls) and my brother (dreadlocks) to help out as well. It went pretty smooth...about 2 hours to get it all put back together. Here's a list of materials/parts I used:

*various wire wheel attatchments, 60 grit flap disks, Eastwoods Rust Encapsulator, Eastwoods Satin Chassis black paint.

*Springs ceramic coated (endurashine) figured wth. I want to use this local company for other parts on this truck and wanted to try them out. I wanted a cast iron color, but that silver was baked at a lower temp (around 350-400 i think) and I didn't want to overheat the springs,

*Rancho RS9000 shocks (9-way adjustable)

*Grade 8 bolts mostly

*Sweat and a little bit of blood.

It's time for the front half of the truck now. I wanted to start on it today, but with Easter this was all we could get done. Good day overall!

Looks really good! I especially like the springs. I always like driving my truck when I had the bed off. Makes me feel like I had a way bigger motor. :

Yeah, it should be on the road by fall. I'm going to leave the bed off until next spring when I have all of the body work done and paint it.

yeah...in the spring. I'm trying to break it up into 3 phases. Rear, front, body work, paint and center of frame last. Gotta save more money now.

I'm an Okie...not from muskogee though. I told my dad to find me a nice OU decal for the truck and I'll put it on.

Thanks. I'm interested to see how the coating holds up. I could have just left them black, but they were part of this whole experiment. A little too much bling for me, but that's o.k. I just didn't want everything to be black.

Thanks for all of the compliments

Working on a truck without beer is like working on it without tools.

Re: Easter, nuts, bolts & ham (progress pics)

well...almost exactly 3 years to the day and I'm back. Been busy, but I'm going to put the truck back together this coming friday. The whole front end is taken apart down to the frame. It will all be put back with powder coated stock suspension and Moog parts. It's good to be back and will be better to have it on the road soon

Looking good. The springs are a nice touch. they set it off good. I leave the beer till I'm done. It takes me long enough to get anything done without haven to stop and go pee every hour.

Thanks! Your the friend from Maryland that I never met when I lived there. I got married, bought a house, rebuilt a 1984 F*** F-250 w/ a 460 and a C6. She's a mean and thirsty *****. Thought I would use that as the work truck and build the Chevy as a cruiser. I can't believe it's been 3 years! It's good to be back!

Re: Easter, nuts, bolts & ham (progress pics)

Me and a friend started putting the front end together and everything went pretty smooth overall. We put new bearings/races on and the hub wouldn't slide back easily. I stopped about 3" or so before it was all of the way back. My friend said it should go on smooth and another friend at work said sometimes you have to grab it with both hands, center it and jam it on in one quick motion. What do you guys say?
