Question about bags on lower 4 link bars
Could someone post some pics ( i couldnt find any) of a custom rear "lever" setup. I see the ones that SD and KP build and they incorporate a "dog bone" suspension link between the lower bar and the axle. My question is why?

Re: Question about bags on lower 4 link bars
b/c they use short forward bars so you can keep the stock tank in place.. if you stuck the bag on a short bar, you are acceptable to pinion changes quicker b/c your arc is smaller. so they use lift bars to counter this..

Re: Question about bags on lower 4 link bars
on a 5 link or a 6 link i believe the "dog bone" is there so when the axle move the lower bars(behind the axle) dont bind or interfer with the downward motion of the axle and the 4-link bars. kinda hard to explain maybe some one else can explain it better...

Re: Question about bags on lower 4 link bars
sorry, im talking strictly 4 link setups. Im contemplating whether to just put the bag on my factory rear control arm or do a custom tri 4 link with big square tube bars on the outside of the frame rails similar to what SD and KP does. I was just curious whether i had to run dog bones on the lower links in order to prevent binding. I dont think i should have to though because i dont have anything that will interfere, and a standard tri 4 link works without them. Thanks for the input
EDIT: this is a 72 2wd burb im talking about too Last edited by 4cefed; 03-25-2008 at 05:54 PM. |

Re: Question about bags on lower 4 link bars
a tri four link doesnt need "Dog bones" on 5 or 6 links do
