vent window weatherstrip replacement revisited

I am getting ready to replace the rubber and felt on my vent windows,69 cst.
I found a couple of threads in the faq section about doing this .....but i am still unclear on which rivets need to be drilled out and replaced, and what size are the rivets?I see the part about the nut on the ca at the bootm of the window but are the rivets at the topon the swing hinge, can this be done with a regular rivet gun?

the pics for removel and install angle are good i just wish i could see pics of where the rivets were drilled and replaced.

this truck is my daily driver so want to make sure i got everything i need priopr to starting,my apologies as i know this is a boring set of questions that probably gets asked over and over again.

thanks

Re: vent window weatherstrip replacement revisited

The rivet on the hinge does not need to be removed. The rivets that need to be drilled out, are the ones along the channel where the felt is. As for what size, I just bought the replacement kit from GMC Pauls, which include the tool you need to flatten the rivets. With the tool, be gentle. It's kind of soft metal, and if you hit it hard, won't last through both sets of windows.
