empty tank at a quarter??
my gas gauge only goes to 1/4 tank when it is empty. any ideas? when i fill it it goes all the way up. Would this matter if its the right tank? don't know but was in it when i bought it. could it be a wrong sending unit? any suggestions would be helpful

Re: empty tank at a quarter??
It could be that your sending sends the right OHMS at full but doesn't go as low as your tank, or it could be rusty or something and physically sticks at 1/4 tank

Re: empty tank at a quarter??
Pull the sending unit and check to see if the float is level with the suction line when all the way down. Also make sure it is not in contact with the tank when installed. If this is not it then it is probably a bad spot in the resistor wire
