New from MID-MO

I'm Jared from Hardin, MO.
While researching some ideas I stumble onto this awesome site. The trucks here are unbelievable, and the people seem to be very helpful.
Here are a few shots of my daily driver.

I’m also into Volkswagens here’s my volksrod I built from a ’68 type 3 station wagon.

* * * * * *
And for what brings me to the site my long time project. I finally decided to start a project that I’ve had since around ’95. It’s a ’56 Chevy panel truck. I found it while searching for some parts with my cousin. It was buried in a small junk yard. The last time it was one the road was ’68.

Re: New from MID-MO

It was quite interesting to get out since it had no axles. The panel body has no major rust through. The only problem areas are the steps and cowl area which is typical for around here. Even the wood is solid. Since I’m planning on going with an airbag setup the lack of axles doesn’t bother me.
Here it is after I got it home and got all the moss scraped off.

Then here it is being stored in this old shed since ’95.

I’ve been collecting part over the years and have new inner and outer cowls, good doors, hood, and a bunch of other parts. I also picked up this suburban for parts cheap.

Here’s an idea of what I’m hoping to achieve with the suspension.

I still need a lot more parts, time, and money but this panel will be saved.

I’m sure later on I’ll have a bunch of questions and I hope I’ll be able to share anything I might know.
Later ,
Jared

It wouldn't be much of a build thread as of now with just a some parts in a pile.
