My dad's 02 Suburban has the 5.3 and it is a good truck, but is even better with the K&N intake

Re: 5.3L...... which manifolds???
I am running some from a ls6 from a z06 vette. They look like shorties. Car craft did an article that compared them to long tube headers and they did very well, others will agree that headers with a proper tune will be much better but I am happy with my choice. Stock with a tune I made almost 300 rwhp and 300 rwtq. I am now putting in a larger cam so we will see.
Any of the manifolds will bolt up just getting one to fit is the problem. Dave

Re: 5.3L...... which manifolds???
Won't the old style turnback stock 307/350 miss the mount?

Re: 5.3L...... which manifolds???
OHHHHHH, yeah with the vortex they would. the new gen III exhaust ports are more designed like a ford head.

Re: 5.3L...... which manifolds???
That sucks big. Someone should be able to help, has to be a header that would fit your app then.

Re: 5.3L...... which manifolds???
Here's a set of Doug Thorley "proto-type" headers that I'm test fitting on my 69 Suburban (5.3/4L60E). They fit great and should add some decent horsepower. I'll probably run the 98-00 F-body manifolds on my 67 CrewCab since it's not going to be a show truck. I've got an extra set if decide to go that route.

ya Ive got a set of the 00 f-body manifolds. the truck ones fit better then they do. the only difference i see is that you are running different motor mounts. I'm still using the stock frame side mounts. the manifolds are hitting the hump in them.

I PM'ed the Thorley guy here at the forum what seems like a week ago, and still haven't heard anything back. I don't think they're for sale.
