Hi guys,
I found this on another site. I would change the side markers to the clear ones and change the mirrors to the ss style, shave emblems, shave keyhole, and custom front clear bowtie. I'm seriously contemplating on keeping my stepside and not convert to fleet, but we'll see.

I'd put the stock hood back on it and loose the mirrors. That's it! Ya don't see too many slammed step sides.... looks pretty cool.

Shave that thing down like a well groomed bikini line - Is it just me or does the one piece window kit make the roof line look taller. May just be this one particular pic...

i agree with everything said in the above posts...shave that monkey clean and smooth!! LOL

I also agree with the roof line comment....the one piece windows do make the cab look taller to me too.

BTW...STEPSIDE LOVER HERE TOO!

From the right viewpoint they all look too tall once they are slammed. I saw a really sweet burby that looked like the top had been raised...it was stock. This is why Craig Wick chopped his 1 inch in front and only 3/4 inch in back ('67 short fleet) to make the roof look stock after it was slammed. Subtle...very subtle.

I can't find an AFFORDABLE fleetside box so the step is going to have to do...LOL!

BTW...love the cowl hood but lose the side markers, in-cab tank, and mirrors.

I'd lose the "big wheel" rims and rubber band tires. Leave those for the ricers where they belong.

SWEET! I can't wait until mine is done! I don't like the mirrors or the chevy marker emblems on the side. Looks sweet. My next project will have bags!

Looks like what I want to do to mine, somewhat. Ditch the induction hood, shave it, 1 3/4 inch chop, no driprails, paint the bumpers and FLAME IT!

get those big rims out of there. no bigger than 17's, especially for stepsides. big rims dont look as bad on fleets.
if you're gonna leave the side markers dont put hte "deluxe" ones on there i dont like those.
this pic gives me a good idea of what mine will look like with the hood and windows done. man those hoods look great with that grille.

Actually, I think from Craig's post on another thread his cuts were 2" and 1.5". That's my plan _if_ I can ever manage to get this cab of mine headed to North Carolina...

And ditto to just about all the other comments in this thread...

including the cowl hood... that's got to go.

You might be right about the amount of chop...I did not think it was chopped until my son pointed it out to me. But I thought it was so little that it did not make any sense at the time. I was not until I saw that, otherwise outstanding, slammed suburban from the front that it all became clear. There is alot more to this than it appears at first glance. I really appreciate the work some of these guys put into their trucks to get the "RIGHT" look.
