Shaved Door Handel Install
I started this thread for people who want the shaved handle look on their 67-72 Chevrolet truck. The job requires metal inserts welded and smoothed over to get the look but, I will be addressing the mechanical side of the project
I went in to this project with the only input that people had lot of questions on how much solenoid is needed, after installing the SPAL shaved 40 kit I feel it has more force than is needed. Placement is the key and the kit doesn’t discuss this at all. It does include the wiring setup so I will not. I’m not recommending this kit but noting the features I did like about it. The 4 button remote as I plan on extra features later First of all there will be some light fab work in this project but nothing too hard You will need power solenoid kit I chose kit in first photo You will need extra door rod that is used to unlock door from inside, or 5” of rod same size to make step 2 photo 4 gum threaded nutsAt least 2 new rod retaining clipsSmall cut off wheel Start by copying all ten of the step photos to folder on pc then select all print choosing 5/7 which will be only 5 pages. Then you will have install instructions Just remember after install remove parts Paint bare metal parts and Lube all contact points You can open door with Key or if window is rolled down simply pull the inside lock rod to open door. This is incase fuse blows Good luck
