Blazer Tank Conversion - Sending Unit Wire

What have you used to wire the new tank behind the rear end. I spliced my original wire but there is too much resistance so it reads "E".

Thx

Re: Blazer Tank Conversion - Sending Unit Wire

With the gauge setup more resistance should make the dash unit read beyond full since "0" ohms = empty and 90 ohms = full.

If you are reading empty then I would suspect that the wire from the tank is grounded to the truck somewhere. Try disconnecting the sender wire at the fuse panel to see if the dash guage reads full with the wire disconnected.

Re: Blazer Tank Conversion - Sending Unit Wire

That is an easy answer... the gauge does not read full when the wire is disconnected; rather it reads 1/4 tank. Once I hooked up the wire it went to "E".

Gauge Problem?

Re: Blazer Tank Conversion - Sending Unit Wire

Guage is 30 ohms, Sending unit is 90 ohms. Put a 45 or 47 ohm resister *depending on what the parts storr has in stock* inline right before the guage.

Run a search for fuel guage ohm and you should get what you need.
