Upgrade to internal regulator - question not in FAQ

Hey folks, I just upgraded to a 100 amp alternator and eliminated my external regulator. In the FAQ, the connector on the regulator is just left hanging. I know I can just cut the remaining two wires and tape them off, but I was wordering where they went and what others had done.

I just taped the end of the connector and left it (in case I needed to go back to the old alt for some reason...)

The switch-over went really well and seems to be working fine. When I initially fired it up, the amp gauge dipped to discharge for a second and then jumped back to the middle and has pretty much stayed there. I picked up a black powdercoated si12 from Summit for $82. Felt really good getting that old regulator box off the radiator support. Seems hard to believe these trucks came with a 37 amp alternator.

it's been years since I did mine, but I remember removing 10 tpo 20 feet of wire when I traced those wires and tied them in together elsewhere.

I cant remember exactly either, but I think they just were just spliced in with some other wires down the line in the harness. I removed them & got rid of the plug...

Re: Upgrade to internal regulator - question not in FAQ

Thanks,
Once I get my MSD 6a wired in and working I'm going to clean it up. I'll probably wait until then and decide where I want everything run and reloom it all. I want to have both hot and a negative terminals on both sides of the truck, probably at the radiator support on the driver's side and next to the battery on the passenger side and run everything off them with breakers or fuses. I'd like to gang my relays into a watertight box. I haven't found the right one yet, but some of the marine electrical hardware is pretty interesting. I'm just doing it in stages so I can change my mind as I get more knowledge.

Next up, the 3/4 ton brake booster upgrade...
