Cool air valves ???

Iam getting ready to buy my air valves for my suspension but I don't know which kind of valve system I want to go with. Any suggestions and pics would help.

Re: air valves ???

I would be looking at an 8 valve setup which is basically a fill and dump valve for each bag. Take a look at some plumbing diagrams to familiarize your self with how they work. Another option which is more simple and clean looking is a manifold which is basically all 8 valves plumbed together on one block. Air Ride Tech makes one as well as another company that is escaping my memory right now.

Cool Re: air valves ???

Iam going to use 3/8 hard line for most of it. thinking I want to us a manifold setup to keep everyhting together. But am open to other poeple suggestions. If your wondering Iam building a 61 truck that has a 77 crossmember with air ride upper and lower control arm and has been z'ed 3 inches. In the rear i made a big notch for the axle clearance with a four link setup. For those of you who know about the 60-62 frames Iam cutting out the inner frame webbing and boxxing the frame and adding new frame supports.

Re: air valves ???

you going stainless line or??? Where are you getting the fittings from for the hardline?

To anybody else, can you run aluminum line for air?

I want to do stainless hardline but I've been reading over on the s10 forums from people that have done it that it costs around $1000 for tubing and fittings after all is said and done. Thats WAY to steep for me.

I ran some alluminum air lines for my chevelle and i never had any problems. Since it is alluminum they won't rust and will be easy to bend. I really don't see anything wrong with it at all. Stainless will look nicer but you pay for that.

Where did you get the aluminum line?

Were the fittings also aluminum? What type are they and where did they come from?

Re: air valves ???

McMaster Carr has some coils of aluminum tubing rated at 400 psi. cleaned up nice (almost could pass for polished with a very little work and some fine sandpaper. Think a 25' roll was like $30. I used 1/2" but they have lots of sizes. I'm sure you can probably find it local as well.
