Tire lbs rating ??????
If a tire says it can handle 1526 lbs does that mean you times it by 2( half the vehicles wieght) and hope the vehicles wieght fits.
Or do you times it by 4 ( all four tires) Or do I have no fn idea what I'm saying? Our trucks are around 3500lbs no? So if it is times 4 that gives me 6000lbs?? help me out here.....

Re: Tire lbs rating ??????
You times it by 4. (as long as all 4 tires are the same) The total you come up with is the maximum load the truck can legally carry.

Buying 10 ply's rated at say 2500 lbs does not mean you can truck on down the road with 10,000 lbs. It tells me that unless I think I'm gonna get better tire wear its pointless to by a tire thats rated more than say 1500. Last edited by Highsteel; 04-20-2008 at 03:04 AM. Re: Tire lbs rating ??????
One other thing. The closer you are to the top weight limit of the tire the faster it will wear, and the easier it will damage.
