Solo's build thread
WOOOOOOOOO!! I'm excited man I got my truck today. It's the 72, but I decided instead of draggin' it I'm going to hit the dirt track with it and try to get some seat time before I go up to hickory motorspeedway in june for driver testing with lafferty motorsports. My next truck is gonna be a 67, it'll be my daily driver & for haulin' this one on a trailer lol. I know how you guys went nuts for pictures in my last thread so there will be no shortage of pics in this one! So here ya go...

Re: Solo's build thread
is their a way to fix the red x problem?
gunny - get your butt over here and lets get to strippin' it down! i took the tail gate off today, the bed goes tom. also takin' it over to george's garage to get the spark plugs replaced, the timing adjusted, and the carb overhauled. 67-c30 - No option for that I'm afraid. It's all I got to run. Saturday the roll cage starts goin' in. Got a guy in Lancaster SC gonna put it in. I forgot his name but he's the only guy out of about ten I've talked to that have said they can get it done in three weeks and only charge $1200. More pictures!! I think those seats are out of a toyota corolla lol. And as you can see it used to be yellow, the inside of the bed panels have some blue showin' through the black though so its been painted ALOT! Heres a question for yall, yesterday it would crank right up and was runnin' pretty good, today I couldn't keep it idle'in, I had to stand on the gas to keep it runnin' but it wouldnt hardly get over 2000 rpm... Is that just a timing/carb problem that'll disappear after I get it back from the garage or is most likely more serious? Last edited by Solo; 04-23-2008 at 05:16 AM. |

Re: Solo's build thread
Oh it will be, I wish I could remember that guys name, bobby robinson sent me to him. Couple people told me to call cookie thompson (you might know who that is, if not your dad prolly does.) bout it but he quoted me $1600 and it wouldnt be done anytime soon 'cus he's already got 4 cars lined up for roll cage work. But this guy I'm goin' to specializes in roll cages so he's good, and FAST, he's rollin' cars out like crazy so he'll have it done for race day... he's also puttin' the fuel cell in and darrel up at D&M on top of the hill is gettin' me some racin' tires cheap. I talked to him today he said he'd hook me up with some stuff and help me out for free on alot of stuff as long as its not to major. And I got brian on the pit crew, boy knows his stuff bout racin'... went down the street to his neighbors thats been racin' for like 25 years they got race cars sittin' ALL over there yard it was pretty sweet man. They haul there main car in the back of a school bus they've cut out .
