What are these kind of nuts called?
While I was fooling with my manual choke conversion I was reminded again about those very thin nuts that hold the cable housing up against the dash when you move the cable in and out.
On the package they called it a PAL NUT. I searched several evenings on google and found nothing like the one I have. It looks exactly like a regular standard nut, except it is only about 1/3 rd the thickness of a standard nut. Looks like there are only about 3 or 4 threads total. It isn't stamped, it isn't a push nut, it isn't like any of the hundreds of nuts I have in the shop. It isn't like any of the fasteners I am familiar with that hold on body trim or upholstery. Can anyone tell me what they are called and maybe who sells them? TIA

they are called a "jam nut". you should be able to get them at ACE; that's where I picked some up at once.
