69 cst-10

Well after 4 years of owning the truck and it sitting in a garage. Ill post more info about it soon but have a few pics for now. my first question is this. Are the Drop Spindles and the lower control arm suppose to hit like in the pic? they are CPP spindles and Perform online lower arms.

Re: 69 cst-10

It was a running and drivable truck but 1 part replacement turned into a complete tear down. I am lowering it 3.5/5in. I know a guy that builds engine's for a few local drag cars so he is doing one up for me. 454 .040 over for 462 estimated at 550hp/tq with the parts so far. There are about $5000 in other parts for the rest of the frame that i will post pics of later.

Yes it is the steering stop but it looks like it does not allow enough turn to that side

Re: 69 cst-10

A few more pics. Took a bit of time to get all the oil and old paint off the frame and cross member but will be worth it. I do not have the space to take the cab and box off to do the frame all at once.

Re: 69 cst-10

Haven't done a lot in last few weeks but got some time Sat and Sun so this is what i accomplished. Stripped the back half bare then cleaned, Primed, and painted. I will be cutting off the Trailer hitch seeing that this truck will only be hauling @$$. If anyone wants the Trailing arms or hitch let me know just pay shipping.

Re: 69 cst-10

Got the Eng parts in. Block is prepped and painted. Should get the rotating assembly in by the end of the week.

Still need to get the f@rd 9in installed and welded up along with the new trailing arms and cross member. May be 2 weeks to a rolling chassis.

Re: 69 cst-10

Got the engine back. I am working on getting the rear end mocked up and hope to have a rolling chassis within the month. I am installing a Jap trans that required the engine to be installed backwards so i need to get a few other things mocked up and fabricated. (joke) It is sitting that way just to fit. I'm planning on sending out the TH350 for a freshening up. anyone in socal that can let me know.

Re: 69 cst-10

Im in Chula Vista, Depending on the turnout in huntington i may ride my bike (Buell) up there and check it out for some ideas. could use a hand for some of it. I usually have to rig something up to get stuff done. Good luck over there, i did 2 westpac's and said to hell with that. hit me up when you get back and will exchange #'s

Re: 69 cst-10

Hey man,
that sounds good. Yeah I'd offer a ride and maybe still can just depends on if my one buddy I invited from the beginning wants to go. I know it'll be a good one no matter what. I mean I just organized it in the past month or so so I don't expect a crapload of people to be there but some is better than none and we'll get to do some work on some trucks

Re: 69 cst-10

Got the rear end tacked in... The axle is centered in the frame rails. Have 5.5in hanging off the trailing arms. Center of axle is 13.5in off ground for 28-30in tires and allowing for tire squat. The trailing arms are at a 7degree up angle. now i need to get the Watts Link set up tacked in.

Re: 69 cst-10

Got something accomplished finally. Havent welded in a years so a few crappy passes ground down and some extra ones made sure to penetrate. The stud on the rear is for a Watts link from Totally Polished.

Re: 69 cst-10

Finally got off my ass this Veterans day and did something. I had some cracks in the rear upper shock support so i welded them up and did a bit of mocking up/fab on the rear end. Here are some pretty pics

Re: 69 cst-10

Well i found out that i have been paid wrong for the last year and i got about $3g back. So i called up Currie to finish up my rear end. 9+ housing, Detroit locker, 3.70 gears. $1600 well worth it IMO. Should have the chassis complete in a week. Will post pics as soon as i get it in.

Re: 69 cst-10

Thank you Third.
I got most of the steering set up sanded and primed/painted today. just need some new inner Tie-rod ends to finish it up. Also, with the help of a friend finished welding up the brackets on the rear end. Will have the third member in this week and will post more pics when it is installed.
