thinking about a blazer now!price ???
Well I found a 72 Blazer CST 4x4, AT, 305 with HEI, AC, Cruise, neither work, buckets and console, rear seat, ralleys with caps and rings, new floor pans and rockers, top is good, hatch is bad and rust in tailgate, body has some rust on it and has been fixed before. Different doors on it with rust in very corners. Grill, bumper and hood are real good. It sounded pretty good, I didn't get to drive it yet but he said it drove fine and the 4x4 is in good shape. I think I can get it for $2200 is this to much? I've never had a blazer it might look good with the burb and 67 swb. THANKS any help is appreciated. Randy

For another $6K you could buy my 72 2wd Blazer that is already done . Has a nice 350 (instead of that crappy 305), no a/c or cruise, but at least all of the work has been done, alot of new sheetmetal and no rust. But if it's a 4x4 you're looking for, rule of thumb is " $1K for the 4x4, another $500 if it at least runs".

Well, a blazer in almost any condiiton is worth at least 1k, for a drivable one $2200 doesn't sound bad at all.

I just sold a 72 Blazer with 4" Suspension and 3" body lift for $1500. Mine was pretty rusty(floors, rockers, windshield frame) but ran very well with a built 350 and 3/4 ton axles. Just something for you to compare with. $2200 sounds like going rate for an average blazer but definitely not a bad price.

That's not a bad price for an entry level 1st Gen K/5. You may want to R&R the 305 for a 350, when the time comes. Be sure to check for bad rust at the windshield frame upper corners. This is an expensive fix as a whole other K/5 body has to be sacrificed to get good A pillar/ windshield header joints. [I learned about that the hard way, letting my enthusiasm for a bright blue '71 Jimmy carry me away.LOL]
I have a '68 C/10 stepsde and a '67 K/10 Sub -- the K/5 is the most fun to drive. Good Luck |

Well I passed on it he's had it advertised for 2 weeks and I'm the only one that has looked at it. I'm going to let him set on it a day or two. I think I can get it for $1800 but it needs alot of stuff. Needs a whole steering column (I have one already) Body wasn't in the best shape but I've seen worse, windshield frame was good. Hood, grill and bumper were good so If I were to fix it I would need a whole outer body. I can't make up my mind, the wife says buy it if I want it but I don't know how bad I want it, bad feeling. The rear driveshaft was on backwards but he said its always been that way. Its been sitting for 4 years and I can't figure out why he wasn't driving it. It drove Ok and the 4x4 worked fine. You can't open rear hatch or it will fall apart. Oh well I'm debating! Thanks for the input!!! Randy
