Re: Arizona to Indiana, The Final Chapter.........

Thanks for the Support, It is Truly Appreciated. Teardown of the Truck is about Complete, Most of Cab Body Work has been Completed. Having a Hard Time with the Driver's Door, Replace both Hinges & Still not Lining up Right. After Further Investigation it was found that the Door is Pulling Apart at the Seam where outter skin overlays to the back a A Big Dent at the Bottom of the Door................

Sure hope it can be worked out, To Hard to Find a Decent Door Around Here.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Scrap??? Are you crazy Rick??? You can't save that beautiful bed you got???

If the top rails weren't as hamered as they are you could reskin the insides like I did on mine. Did you ever get an answer on the 60's bed you found, if you can use it or not? If the issue is fender holes, weld the old ones up and drill new ones. Too bad you do not live closer, I wish I could help you figure out some of the issues you have to deal with.

As far as the skin comming apart, take the door off and spot weld the skin back onto the inner shell and see if that fixes it. You might want to put a series of small spot welds all around the door (2 or so inches apart between welds) to help keep it in place and then grind them smooth. Smear a light coat of seam sealer on the edge and noone will ever know it was fixed!

Re: Arizona to Indiana, The Final Chapter.........

No sweat, just still touchy. I feel I did the best I could, and some mistakes happened on both ends. A lot of work went into that thing and I did it, so sometimes a comment or two kinda goes deep. Glad to see it getting done, sorry to see it come back apart as it took a pound of my flesh to get it together, but it needs to happen in order to get it done the way Rick wants it. I hope it turns out as he wants, cause it was a pretty decent start and will be nice!

Hey Rick, I thought you could use another fix. I had the dream in a show in Oakland today. I didn't win, but I love car shows. Besides there were alot of other trucks there that were worthy! Check out my build page for more pics.

Hope all is well....

Re: Arizona to Indiana, The Final Chapter.........

Don,

Thanks for the Pics, It was a Boost to See Your Truck in That Setting, Give's me Hope. The Good News on My End is that i was able to work a Deal with Board Member Huck for the Bedside's off the Bed He had adverised for sale, He Pulled his Fender's & will Sale them & The Oak Bed Kit at The Swap Meet Coming up IN Indy this Coming Weekend. Going to Meet Him at The Fairground's wednesday To Pick them up Which save me about 300 mile's of driving Time.

As far as Truck is Concerned, Found that someone had actually had to do Quite a Bit of Repair work to the rear of Cab. All Appear's to have just been Dent Repair........

Here are a Few Pics of Latest Progress........

Rick
