Need gmc pics
A friend smashed into my truck so I have to install a gmc front clip. Tried to search for pics, but gmc is too short of a word. Looking for pics that will inspire me to like the gmc front end.
Thanks |

Re: Need gmc pics
here is how the truck looks now. The guy that hit it has a friend that has a 67 gmc sitting in the woods. I am going to swap the front clip. I think that will be the fastest way to get it back on the road

Re: Need gmc pics
If I'm not mistaken...the front bumper, hood, and fenders are all the same on a '67-'68 GMC and a '67-'68 Chevy. The only thing you'd need to swap out from the GMC to make it a Chevy again is the front grill and headlight/turn signal setup.
My truck is a GMC and I've changed the grill to a Chevy just by installing the '68 Chevy grill and using some '72 headlights and buckets I had. I upgraded the bumper at the same time. before: after:

Re: Need gmc pics
He said he was backing out the garage after a brake job when he did it. Said he forgot to pump up the brakes.
Looks like he was going 40mph to me. The GMC front end is really growing on me. Its good to know that all I have to do is swap out the grill to turn it back into a chevy. Thanks for all the pics! |

Re: Need gmc pics
I don't get it, someone else smacks your truck and you have to fix it? With parts you don't want to use??? Oh hells no! He needs to pony up for the parts to fix it back the way it was.

Re: Need gmc pics
I'm guessing you'll have to do some harness swapping as well because of the 2 additional headlights?

Re: Need gmc pics
GMC has a better looking front end for sure (well --- subject to speculation, i know)
------ as far as Chevy vs. GMC's go -- can anyone really think of a worse looking grill than the 69-70 Chevy grille? I know -- i have one of each (GMC and Chev.) but that aside --- if the dude has liability insuralnce, this probably wouldn't even raise his rates-, unless he is an SR-22 or something -- just get him to call it in if you can - it doesn't have to be a big deal. Just let the insurance company handle it and never bring it up again --- that way the friendship won't be spoiled )
