complete steel shortbed floor
I don't know how new this is, but I got my LMC catalog in and noticed that they make a complete shortbed steel floor. Now only if they will make one for a LWB. Thought you short bed guys would want to know if you already don't.

Re: complete steel shortbed floor
Yeah, they've been on the market for at least a few months, but everyone I've talked with has been very satisfied.

I just got a Brothers Truck catalog yesterday, says that the longbed bedsides will be for sale soon. Whether that means 6 weeks or 6 years, I dunno. Would be nice to see some longbed parts avaliable!!! I am sure that the floors will come soon!!! Mike

Re: complete steel shortbed floor
$1k for the floor of a shortbed?!?! Plus shipping, no wonder people don't bat an eyelash at a $700 asking price for an original?!?!?! I have had several short fleet beds with nice floors, according to this line of reasoning a good bed must be worth at least what $2-3k!! My my my, I have been giving them away on trucks for $3500 (for the whole truck!)

Re: complete steel shortbed floor
Well, the problem is that some folks think one part is worth a lot of $$$, then other still yet, buy all new and somehow think that the parts add up to a total value even though it may be double what other sell for. I think repop parts are great, but I think the cost of some of these parts is high (to pay, maybe not to sell considering the tooling, supplies, etc) but I wouldn't think you could sell too many thousand dollar bedfloors?

Re: complete steel shortbed floor
I agree, I would convert to a wood bed before I paid that price...speaking of which, the front panel and support beams are the only difference between a steel and wood bed, correct?
