i ran across this today and it is for sale. 71 cheyenne, 93 LT1 vette engine, electronics under the seat. 700r4 tranny, 292 ratio. the owner said 16,500.00 firm or possibly a trade. it looks good except the wheels. tell me what you think. it has a fuel cell under the truck .if you are interested here is a few numbers jim blake 706-673-4554 or 706-313-2780 do not call the number in the window of the truck. This is all i know about the truck!

Re: check out this 71 cheyenne
I'd like to know how he got the compressor and the alt. on the same side. I also have an LT1 in my 67 and I'm catching the devil trying to figure out how to run my a/c lines being that the stock compressor on those engines are at the bottom .

Re: check out this 71 cheyenne
Correct prices:
eBay: $16,500 Barett-Jackson: $33,000 His asking price might seem a little high, but I can guarantee you , he's got more than that into it, and if he doesn't, he did everything himself. The bottom line is, it's a damn nice truck. The motor might look a little goofy, but LT1's are no joke. And if you have $16,500, I'm sure the guy would let you put anything in there that you wanted!

Re: check out this 71 cheyenne
70 rs/ss said it all.
I could probably buy the truck and do some work and detail work on it. Bring it to Texas and make some money off of it. I just finished a 67 swb fleetside for a guy at work and i have almost $6000.00 in it. He just wanted it a driver where he could take over and have paint and bodywork done. And it looks like S..T. I just took some pics. the last few days. I think i will post them to see how much hell i will catch. And i have probably had about 40 of these trucks in some sort of driver quality. From work trucks to frame offs. So i know how much they cost. I sell new and used parts also. So it is not like i have to buy retail. New bumpers alone went up about $20.00 dollars each. It takes a lot more to build a truck today than last year for sure. Just my two cents.

Re: check out this 71 cheyenne
Wouldn't a 2.92 in the rear take that LT1 forever to get that big ass truck moving?? Probably can't even hear it running at highway speeds. Someone correct me if I'm wrong!

you are absolutly right, and I think it was either a typo, or the owner not knowing what he's talking about.

Re: check out this 71 cheyenne
Well all I can say is...I wouldn't kick it out of my garage for leaking oil! That is a very nice looking truck. IMHO Is it worth $16,500? I would say yes because I am getting to know first hand what it takes $$$ wise to restore a truck...as well as others can testify due to their experience.

Re: check out this 71 cheyenne
sweet truck, i'd drive it and be proud--after i changed the shift handle of course. i think the price is very reasonable since around here a nice paint job will cost 10 grand on up-- if you can find a shop that will do it. they only want to do insurance jobs since it's quick and easy money. thanks for the pics.

i like the tach i feel that if your are going to restore a c-10 and are useing the factory gauges why not just go the extra mile and put the tach in it

Re: check out this 71 cheyenne
I have to agree on this one 100%, the nice things about our trucks is everyone has different views of what they want, that is what makes them nice and unique. I hope he gets the money he wants.

Re: check out this 71 cheyenne
The price seems very reasonable to me. I have a lot of money into my truck and it's not even close to being as nice as that. I'd love to have it.

Re: check out this 71 cheyenne
That thing is well worth the money he`s asking,is a beautiful truck,he`s got way way more in it,the motor out of place???,and wheels, steering wheel, and shift knob are things even the simplest minded fool can change for relatively few bucks along with a little detailing and turn around and ask $25,000 for it*.Many who look away would then be drooling over that.Is it not worth it because we can`t afford it?
Thanks for sharing.I wish I had the money to buy such a nice truck in one of the most popular color combos and all the hard stuff done, quite nicely. A shortbed isn`t a big heavy truck.GM used 2.73 10-bolts in the`80s coupled with o/d trans. My friend just swapped one back into his`85 shortbed that someone had put a 3.42s in.He wants to drive it and still eat three meals a day.I imagine with that effecient motor,o/d,and tall gears that Cheyenne could cut fuel cost noticeably. The torque and horsepower will more than make up for the tall gearing. *and, change exhaust a bit?
