2001-Present integrated seatbelt- bucket seat install?

Has anyone installed 2001-Present integrated seatbelt bucket seats in your blazer or truck? Pictures? My truck will have a full suspension lift, so i want it to drive comfortably as it will be my daily driver... Is this the way to go? Also, how do the late model suburban 3rd row integrated seatbelt seats fit in the rear?

THis picture was from when I was just test fitting them, but i know others have done this as well. Just make sure to reinforce the seats at the floor to add support since the belts are in the seats. They will put you closer to the wheel. I am either going to modify a factory column or buy a shorter one to rectify this, but it might not be as big of deal to you.

I went with the '99 style seats in mine. '01 has integrated seat beats so you should definitely reinforce your mounting holes. Here are a few sample pictures. For the rear you will need to buy mounting brackets that will need to be welded in or you can do what I did and bring a saw to pick-N-Pull

As Andy mentioned, they can be uncomfoprtable for some. The 88-98 years seam to be more versatile and comfortable. by comparrison. The seats are comfortable to me (I have an 02 reg cab), but in our smaller cabs they become cramped. I think the 92-98 years are much more comfortable, and fit into the comfines of our smaller cabs than the 99 up seats.

I don't know. I'm ok with the cloth buckets in my Z71, but they get to be uncomfy on long trips. Couple guys at work have 99-06 style tahoes all with the leather seats... I find those very comfy.

I agree with bill, my uncle had a 96 silverado that we went to NY and back in many times to visit family, VERY comfy seats.

The thing with the 99-present seats in our trucks is lack of cab space. You have to have the seat back almost vertical, and if you have a gut the steering wheel is rubbing it.

Even with the tank out the seats hit at the back window. They are very comfortable, just close to the steering wheel.

I have an 04 suburban with the 12 way (might be an exaggeration) adjustable leather heated seats. I don't know how they fit in a pickup but they are very very comfy.

I'm not sure if the seats I have are the upgraded interior package or not, but if you notice, they are far more "concave" by a few inches in the seat and especially the seat back and wrap around you more than the simalar seats above. Becuase of that, they offer more "room" as well and they are really comfortable. I did shorten my steering column, but it's collapsible so it's just a little time to do that. How to do it is in the FAQ thread.

I have the 98 style Silverado seats in my 69 K20 and have to agree they eat up alot of cab space. I like them but don't like the fact that the back has to be pretty straight to fit.

Taking the tank out makes absolutely no difference, the back of the seats contact the rear of the cab, not the tank.



And this one kind of shows leg room (I'm right at 6').

I feel like I am hijacking, sorry if I am, but it seems like the I (and the OP) may want to consider other seat options. Whate else have people done and kept decent legroom?

This has been duscussed many times here. The integrated belt seats need significant floor reinforcing to be safe. Our trucks floors are not even safe for regular buckets unless the floor is reinforced. Integrated belt seats need the floor reinforced way beyond what factory bucket trucks had for reinforcement. I wouldn't want to be the crash test dummy that figures out the floor wasn't strong enough. Do a search.

I always wonder why this is brought up so much. The stock seats had no extra bracing and the belts are a single bolt into the floor away from failure. If the new seats with belts are installed in the floor with brackets as shown won't that be significantly better than stock with shoulder belts to boot????

mine were an e-bay score, and I couldn't tell you where to locate some unless you want to pay like 500+ each. They are firm, yet very comfortable.

I was wondering if you'd stop by StingRay. I understand that aspect, I have searched. I was asking a completely different question that I feel hasn't been fully explored.

At any rate, with regard to the safety of integrated seat belts, I am a practicing mechanical engineer with degrees in ME and applied physics - I will reinforce the mounting points - trust me. I did not want to talk about that, as it always sounds like bragging, but I have that part covered. Leg room and comfort are things people don't often attribute to specific seats, hence the question.

Seat preference is like arguing over small block vs. big block- put in what you find the most comfortable. I've tried all kinds. If you are 6ft.+ NOTHING is going to be comfortable. The cabs are just too small. For me, the Silverado seats worked the best, and I'm 6ft. I didn't lose any leg room as others describe either. Mine are both 6 way power, which you would think would be useless in these trucks- but it helps alot. Having the ability to adjust my butt cuts down on fatigue.

if they're going in a blazer, all bets are off. there's plenty of room there. i had 6-way leather ones from an '04 trailblazer in mine. integrated belts, thinner profile, and very comfy. one track side needs a riser, but pretty good. i removed them b/c even sliding all the way forward and seat back as well, it was still too hard to get in the back.

Hi. I installed second row seats from a 97 suburban (stole idea from Putter) and they are comfortable. I have the same amount of leg room as with the original bench, but now have the middle armrest/cupholder and updated seatbelts. The original seats and seatbelt anchoring set up is poor, so I have reinforced the floor. I am not an engineer, but what I have must be better than factory. Will try to add pic's if there is interest. Stingray - I also live in Stoon; should chat sometime.
