Electric fans
I want to run an electric fan on my truck... but I'm not really sure where to start. I would like something that uses a stock shroud, or at least one that has a custom shroud that will go around the whole radiator. I have a direct fit Be Cool radiator if that helps.

Re: Electric fans
You can keep the stock shroud if you put the fan or fans on the push (front side of the radiator)

Re: Electric fans
I would like to have it on the engine side... also what would be the point of the shroud if the fan were on the other side?
I think I'm going to be having an A/C condenser as well, so I don't think a fan will work on the front. I just would like a nice big one to fit in the stock shroud, in the stock position, but be electric. |

Re: Electric fans
I am running a stock fan with shroud and dual 12" electric fans(push side) on a thermostat on one of my trucks and it works great...the electric fans only come on if the engine gets above a set temperature

Re: Electric fans
If you have A/C that will not work

![]() 99+ Intrepid fans have an integral shroud and come very close to full coverage. I got a Mark VIII fan from a list member and installed it this weekend, the shroud when centered has a roughly 3" gap on both sides of the stock radiator and it *still* works great, even with the massive gaps I'm going to work on today ![]() I'll put up some pics and a more detailed install story tonight, unless the day gets too hectic ![]() |

Re: Electric fans
I read this thread last night:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=254617 I'm at the point of putting my radiator in and wanted an electric fan solution. I didn't want to spend $400 or more on a name brand system. I just wanted to keep the engine cool and still have some style. I called my local Dodge/Chrysler dealer, gave them the part number from the above thread. They had it instock for $61. So, I picked it up, ordered me a relay kit from Jegs for tomorrow and came home to mock everything up. The truck is a '87 SWB with a '76 454 recently transplanted into it (hasn't even been started yet). I used the '76 radiator, shroud and front bracket to hold it in place. I had to modify the top of the '87's radiator support in order to get the bracket to mount flush with the top of the radiator. Here's a couple pics: ![]() It lined up pretty good ![]() I'll get everything cleaned up tomorrow, painted and wired. ![]()

80s Ford Taurus 3.0 V6 electric fans are supposed to flow pretty well.

Re: Electric fans
Two questions:
1. What year(s) of Grand Cherokee did you use? The current body style, or the previous body? 2. For the Windstar fans - how did you control them? together or separately? I saw one fan is bigger than the other. Just figured oem setup controls them separately but that would be a pain to setup.

Re: Electric fans
I have a 350. The fans were 50 from the junkyard and I got a wiring adapter from Auto Zone that had all the wires, a temp prob, relay and controller for 30. It is adjustable between 150 and 205. The fans fit real close to the size of the radiator. I think the previous fan that I had before was wrong since it was from the old motor and I changed to a serp belt. My engine was running about 245. I put these fans in and it runs nice and cool. I can get better pics tomm.
