Another weekend score. Sierra pics.

Just got back with this one today. PO says the cam has a bad lobe. Will have to investigate. Still has the chrome tailgate handle cover. Pretty neat truck, but does have some rust and some deer damage up front. Anyhow, more pics for the picture junkies...
Been a good weekend truckwise. Enjoy.

Nice truck, lots of good options. What are your plans with it?Did the doors come with the camper scripts?

Re: Another weekend score. Sierra pics.

Tim, the doors do have the custom camper script by the handle.
Any ideas what the rear end would be? It looks similar to a 12 bolt. How about gear ratio with the big block/ auto? Is the power lok anything special, or just a limited slip?
No plans yet. I am trying to get my shop done this summer so i can start working on some of these. Never enough hours in a day...

limited slip and posi are different names for the same thing.

in this case, it's a dana 60 rearend, and the power lock is a clutch style posi.

nicely optioned truck.

Re: Another weekend score. Sierra pics.

If it's a Dana it should be 3:54 gear ratio.

Re: Another weekend score. Sierra pics.

it should be both a dana and a 3.54 being a big block and an auto.

The engine was rebuilt with out boring around 40-50k ago. Had hardened seats cut in, new double valve springs etc. Ran good for awhile, lost a cylinder. Mechanic started to tear it apart and said the cam was bad. Cam was replaced during rebuild. The guy had about $1600 into chasing the problem after the rebuild. "Enough is enough" he said. I have been trying to get this truck for about 6-7 years. Hope that made sense in the short version.

Re: Another weekend score. Sierra pics.

what is the Manual Throttle option? Aren't they all manual throttles? Or does it mean manual choke

Re: Another weekend score. Sierra pics.

Manual throttle would set your rpms without choking the engine. It was a knob similar to the choke in the dash bezel. Probably for charging batteries and such. Or pto if so equipped.
