HF ball joint press question
Hello all,
Does the Harbor Freight ball joint press come with the proper sleeves to remove a ball joint from a 77 dana 44?? I see they sell an expansion kit and was wondering if I need that too or can I get by with the couple recieving tubes that come with the actual clamp set?? Thanks |

Re: HF ball joint press question
Mine came with the right tubes, but it was more than 10 years ago.
I've also used schedule 80 pipe in a pinch. |

Re: HF ball joint press question
I found the standard kit is a pain. I wish I'd bought the expanded kit.
just my 2 cts worth.

Thanks for the input.
What made the standard kit a pain? Did the c-clamp hold up okay? You know that HF stuff. |

Re: HF ball joint press question
Be sure to lube up the screw in the clamp with some bearing grease or something thick like it. Makes it work like an expensive one, lol....

Re: HF ball joint press question
The clamp worked fine. It's the spacers and shims that didn't work to well with the dana 44 front end. You need the other spacers (expanded kit) for the clamp to work properly.
