New Guy from GA with a 55
Her eis my 55 project. Impala front clip with pb,ps and vintage air. Has a turbo 350 and a 10 bolt gm rear end.
I have spent the past day looking through every thread on this forum and I have to say I have to drop this thing... It is way to high... So that is what is next on the agenda.. Oh the motor is a 496 BBC and you can see the rest from the pictures.. |

Re: New Guy from GA with a 55
Welcome to the board from the Central Coast of CA. I guess I missed this introduction. FFW is a good name for a BBC. I like your wheels. I'm going to try to get some myself in a 15 or 16 if I can. What size are yours?

Re: New Guy from GA with a 55
I think I read that 15x8's were the largest from the factory. Are there any aftermaket co. that make them larger? I was hoping for 16's. I guess 15's with a larger sidewall would be fine as performance is less of a priority with my truck.

Daniel
Here are a couple of places to look for rims. Up to 17 inch rally wheels as well as smoothies. http://www.stocktonwheel.com/rally_wheels.htm http://www.wheelvintiques.com/pdfs/4-17_steel_pt1.pdf http://store.coker.com/prod/smoothie-wheel.html

Re: New Guy from GA with a 55
Nice ride!! When the first of the pictures started to download, I thought "yeah, OK...." Then I saw the picture of the engine. That's the exact combo I'm going to run in my '55. How much air cleaner room do you have under the hood? That thing is going to peel your eyeballs back.

Re: New Guy from GA with a 55
not much room with the hood supports still bolted down. They don't hit now but I don't think I can go any bigger...
