Original Trim rings?

Hey guys, i was cleanin the truck this weekend and finally noticed that the trim ring on the passanger front rallie is differnt than the others. First 2 pics are of the different one (the one i think looks to be original) and the last 2 are of the other three, whihc look like ones u buy at farm and fleet or somethin. I was wondering if theses really are original trim rings or not, and if so, where can i get three or four more, lol.... thanks

BRAD

Re: Original Trim rings?

My truck has the "standard" trim rings on one side but narrow rings on the other. I believe they are the same as the camaro/chevelle/gto rings from the early 70's cars. The look of the narrow rings is starting to grow on me and I will probably try to find matching ones.

Hey I'll trade you my one narrow for one of your wide ones.

Re: Original Trim rings?

I think the narrow ones are for a 15x7 wheel and the deeper ones are for the 15x8, but I could be wrong.

Re: Original Trim rings?

I believe that the narrow rings are for the newer style rallys, which have more back spacing, so the trim ring has to be narrower.

Re: Original Trim rings?

The 73-87's use 2 sizes of trim rings but the 2 pictured above are NOT them. The factory one above is the "small" trim ring, the larger version went all the way to the face of the wheel center.

Re: Original Trim rings?

I had all but one to complete a set of the narrower ones, which I think look much better. Last Friday, I went to a local junkyard and looked at all of the trucks, but couldn't find one to match. I ended up finding them on the minivans. They were pretty consistantly on them.

Re: Original Trim rings?

The "narrow" version Chris posted appears to be the same as the "wide" (2nd ring) that Skyline posted. All 8 of the rallye style wheels that I have, have the same rings. However when I first got my 82 it had the narrow-narrow (1st pic by Skyline) ring on one wheel. I quickly replaced it...
