Re: 4x4 5.3 swap

Advanced Adapters makes an output shaft for 700r4 transmissions that works with a stock transfer case adapter. IF that 4l60e tail shaft comes off the tranny like on 700r4s, it could work. I would start with a call to AA and ask them if that part works with newer 4l60e transmissions.

If you clear that hurdle, just work forward from there. Leave the transfer case bolted in. Pull the engine. Unbolt the transmission from the adapter and slide it forward and out. The transmission - provided the output shaft is a go - should bolt right on. From there you'll need to fab. The engine crossmember will probably have to move forward. You need to come up with mounts for the engine.

It should work provided you can get it coupled to your transfer case.

Re: 4x4 5.3 swap

I have a complete 5.3 with 4l60and t-case still bolted up from a 02 yukon. I got to do something with it....think I need a Luv

Best bet would be to get the newer trans and case. if you get push button case be sure to get wires/ control super slick no sticks through the floor.
