cluster and signal wiring problem.
I have all the wiring on the truck straightened out. All blinkers, running, stop and interior are correct accept I have one problem. When I turn on the parking lights the right indicator on the dash comes on constant. It will not get brighter or dimmer if I dim the dash lights. It will go out if I turn the right blinker on. The blinker blinks correctly on the right side. when the park lights are on the right blinker blinks slower than the left. But when the park lights are off the right blinker speeds up to match the left speed. I have looked at the traces on the circuit on the back and it dosen't appear that that bulb has crossed to any other circuit. I have put a new headlight switch in it also. I assume its a ground problem but I have run a separate ground to the gauges along with the one that is already in the harness. If anyone could help I would be thankful.

Re: cluster and signal wiring problem.
Maybe the rear wire harness. Most have been hacked up for trail hook ups. Might be bare and touching in a few spots. I would start there. Or at least just unplug the rear harness. it goes through a rubber gromet on the most rear cross member. Just unplug it and see if that changes anything. Then you know its something in the back harness.
You could even start by un plugging the rear light connection that goes through the fire wall. Its above and to the right of the gas pedal. 4 wire plug, green and yellow, i think purple and black also.

Re: cluster and signal wiring problem.
I would check the ground to front and rear lights. Make sure the bulb socket has not lost its ground to the light housing. Both of my front signals were like that when I bought my truck. Both indicators were lit.

Re: cluster and signal wiring problem.
I agree with john... double check the grounds on the light harnesses (esp up front), and also look in the light sockets to see if they are clean.

Re: cluster and signal wiring problem.
I went and looked at the front right running light at it was out. I wiggled the socket and the light came on. I went and looked inside and the problem went away. When I turn the right signal on the problem comes back because of the extra current in the front socket it causes it to lose ground. I will have to ground the socket better. Thanks guys
