No dash lights

I went from a non gauge dash to a gauge dash and now have no dash lights...I followed the instructions from GMC Pauls website on swapping wires on the wiring harness...and the dash gauge wire has power to it in the harness...I do have turn signals and the temp light comes on when you turn the key on to start...but no dash lights...could a non functioning reostat on the light switch be the problem ??? Or where else should I look ???

Interesting, your lights should not be in series...I have one missing on the fuel guage on mine...but all the others work fine.
If the fuel guage and turn signals are all working, then the inst panel is properly grounded.
A head light switch could be the problem.
However, first I would look at yoru printed circuit board on the back of the inst panel. Look where the plug goes into it, see if there is a 'wire' (on the board...not the harness side) that is not plugged in properly. This would be my first suspision.
