'72 Blazer weight per corner

I had posted this in the suspension forum, but maybe this will get more traffic here...........

Anybody know how much a 4x4 Blazer weighs at each wheel with a 350/350/205? Or even front to rear would help. I need this info to get an idea of spring rates for my coilovers. Thanks.

I just weighed mine the other day - all stock, 350/350/205, with double wall top on, and spare tire. It was 4850# total with me in it (I am 195). I believe the back was around 2350 with the front at 2500. Hope this helps.

I know my 42" TSL's w/wheels weigh 175lbs each corner.

Its coming along. Got the front suspension pretty much mocked up, hence the weight question. I have my coilovers and arms in place, just need coils to get rid of the leaf springs and pearches. I will be working on the rear 4-link when the front is complete. Thanks for the info.

No build thread, but I will post pics here if you are interested. Not much to see yet, just a cage, an engine cage and some radius arms with the brackets.

What an understatement that is! Just got done reviewing your build thread and I'm totally impressed.

Next time someone asks about roll cage design, we have another great design to direct them to review!

OK, the tag on the door jamb show a GVW of 5850 with the front at 3000 and the rear at 3000. What the heck does this mean? These numbers are quite a bit higher then Hoffa's. I know this is loaded up, but 1000 lbs worth?.........

At first blush, 1000# doesn't seem that much to me. It equals 1/2 ton too which makes sense for a 1/2 ton vehicle. My 4850# was only with me in it and I can't remember if the tank was full or not. Assuming it was, if you throw three 200# guys in there with you, that leaves 400# for cargo, tonge weight, etc.

As for the multiple numbers on the VIN tag, the entire vehicle (sum of the front and back axle) cannot be over 5850# total, and neither axle can be loaded over 3000#. I am not sure about the "maximum capacity" numbers other then what I read on my VIN tag. There is a note that refers to having proper equipment, etc. and that would allow you 300# additional on the front axle.

That makes sense. I gues these numbers represent what the vehicle can support, not what it weighs.

If I type in the weight per corner based off of your numbers, my dual spring weight seems low to me at around 170 over 400. But I dont have anything to reference. I will try springs close to these numbers then adjust accordingly. Thanks for the responses.
