67 Front End
The more I look at the 67 front ends the more I like them. I was wondering everyone's thoughts. Don't get me wrong I love the way she looks now. Just trying to get a ton of opinions and see what everyone thinks.

Re: 67 Front End
I have a 69 and the first thing I did was to convert it to a 67. I love the way they look. IMO thats the way to go.

Re: 67 Front End
Have to do the grill, rad support, and I believe fenders. Someone else will chime in on this who knows exactly. I know you have to change the rad support.

Re: 67 Front End
Well, as simple as it is, you will need a few more parts than I think you were ready to buy. You will need a new hood (67-68), new fenders ('67, '67's did not have the side marker lights like the '68-'72's do.), new grille and new grille trim and headlight bucket trim. I believe that everything should bolt up to what's left existing, but I'm sure someone will ring in with whatever mods you will need to do.
IMO the '67's were awesome, smooth and clean looking. D

Re: 67 Front End
Hood, rad support, fenders, grille, trim.... and the panel under the grille, latch too I think.
I like them as well but a nicely polished grille like yours looks good with a darker paint job.

Re: 67 Front End
everyone thanks. I'll have to look into this more then.
msgross thanks for the input maybe i'll go with a darker paint scheme. I'd like to keep an original color although this is the original paint job as far as I know. if you could link me to the original paint codes/chips it'd be appreciated. Maybe this project will wait until I paint the truck and then make my decision. Thanks to everyone for chiming in though.

Re: 67 Front End
hmmm...now i'm considering it. But I want to paint her a glossy black but we'll see...cause I know paint is going to be considerably more expensive than everything else I want to do

Re: 67 Front End
here's a stolen pic... some have white noses, some have "CHEVROLET" on the hood, some have trim on the hood and "eyebrows" of the fenders....
tons of options. I like the painted grille with chrome (not aluminum) rings. They have white steel one's as well...usually people have them chromed with the headlight rings.

Re: 67 Front End
what's with the side markers? Are those put on after cause I thought I had to use the whole front clip to include new fenders...? But who's ever that is has a sweet truck minus the new school bed.

Re: 67 Front End
That'd be a 68 front end on that black truck. I'm doing that to mine, though it is a "mutt" right now-68 hood & grill with the 70 fenders & support. It still looks better than it did IMHO. Is yours a fleetside? I would have gone 67 fenders, but it would be a pain changing the bedsides out just to delete the side marker lights, and I like the side marker lights; and it looks bad to have rear side markers and no fronts!

Re: 67 Front End
I loved my 71 clip when I got it. A trip to Missouri last year with two 67-68 trucks changed my mind though. I now have a 67 clip

Re: 67 Front End
The masses agree with you. The 67-68 grills are very popular, and in this poll they have almost 52% of the vote with the 69-70 and 71-72 splitting the other 48%.

Re: 67 Front End
Go for the 67 front end. Of course I am partial. My truck is a hybrid. 71 or 72 swb frame, 68 doors, grille, and bed, new 67 fenders, new cowl hood. Shaving lights on bed sides, 72 factory a/c cab, 89 bottom end, 97 Vortec heads. She will be titled as a 68 SWB fleet. Also getting new tailgate without lettering.
I must say that a 69-72 with the full billet insert inside the factory outer grille looks pretty good. Just a thought.
