hood emblem location
I want to add a hood ornament on my dually. Do the trucks that came with them have a flat spot on it for the ornament to rest on? Can someone give me a measurement from the front or back of the hood?

no the hood is not flat the ornament is shaped to fit the hood.

i wish a had a camera...my 74 has a mack bulldog on it and i believe theres a bit of a spot, but yours is an 87, right?

Mines an 84 and the emblem I bought doesnt look like it matches the contour of the hood

both the emblems i have were factory and the match the contour of the hood the is to small holes for the studs on the emblem and one large hole for the spring.

got one on my spare hood for my 86, one that got creamated by a tree. ill look tommorow for you. I dont think there was anything special than something to hold the mount down.
