Choke Light

Recently ( last 4 months) my choke light has been staying on constantly...The truck has been kinda stubborn to start since winter time...

First thing I checked was the fuse...fuse is good, and when removed the light go's off...when put back in light go's on....If I disconnect the choke wire itself the light stays on also.... Im getting sick of looking at the choke light LOL

Also I found this wire while checking the fuses(green with orange clip on the end)....I traced it down the torque converter lockup vacuum switch......where does this wire plug into....

Thanks guys for the help..

Re: Choke Light

The choke light CKT runs through the oil pressure switch. Not to be mistaken for the oil pressure sending unit.So when the choke lamp is on,there is no power to the choke heater on the carb.I would check for a bad oil pressure switch first.

Re: Choke Light

My was a 2 blade switch, located next to sending unit.I unwrapped my harness to get a look at the CKT.I thought mine was tied in with the trans CKT's also. What I ended up with was a light blue wire from the choke thermostat to the switch. And a dark blue wire and a pink wire. Both the DB and PK wires were hot with key in run position.I was trying to do away with the switch. So I first used the DB wire. And when engine was started the choke lite was on and no power to the choke. So I went back and changed to the PK wire only.Lite off and 12volts at the choke thermostat.
