Aftermarket is not OEM. For those of us who are hell-bent on collecting only OEM parts, we know the true rarity of such mentioned parts.

Re: Rare parts?
Half that stuff is aftermarket or not rare.
Sheet metal you can get aftermarket. I meant removable and reusable stuff.

Re: Rare parts?
If you have any of these non rare non removable and non reusable original parts I would be happy to take them off of your hands.

Aftermarket is junk. Original rust free GM sheetmetal is rare and much higher quality and better fit than the cheap thin gauge aftermarket Chinese trash. |

That 1st list that was spit out was a very good list of what we seek in junkyards whether we need them or not knowing they are sought after and valuble to many. My reply to this question is just go to a junkyard and when you see parts on trucks that you rarely see, then they`d be rare. You`ll know when you see it.That`s how it all started. The more you know about these trucks the more rare parts will stand out to you.Get to know these trucks and the rest will fall in place.I never had a place to go and learn other than the trucks themselves.

Re: Rare parts?
I'm not too far away from Fuquay almost daily - if you see anything in that list up above, let me know and I'll go grab 'em up.

Re: Rare parts?
So you ask what to look for? And someone tells you? Then you tell them that the items are not that rare? Ok.
Then why you asking? If you know the answers already.

Re: Rare parts?
Yep...looks like a trend.
AM radios might be rare but not worth squat. I had to beg someone to buy mine for $15. Funny but AM/FM's sell for up to $250 back in the heydey....I doubt they'd get that far now. On another somewhat sarcastic note....if you already know what ISN'T rare, then everything else would be right?

Re: Rare parts?
Choke deletes. CST horn buttons (67, 68). And rare is probably the wrong word. We're talking mass produced pickup trucks here, not Ferraris. Valuable would be a better word.

Re: Rare parts?
well its a truck that only went under minor changes in 5 years and being a chevy almost 1/2 the parts are used on other vehicles also
+ theres about 6 catalogs that you can build the truck out of. unless you want oe matching year parts nothing is rare.
