People are strange

No, it's not going to be a link to a Doors video..

What would posses someone to do this? I can think of numerous easier ways to have gotten the cab back on that wouldn't include this bit of appalation engineering.

Re: People are strange

Well it could also have been...some moron was trying to put the motor and trans and in or out of the truck with the crossmember still in it. Then when they couldnt do it...they started destroying the cab so it would fit.

Re: People are strange

The PO of my truck did the same thing. When I got my truck it had a blown motor, and like many times before, I tried to take out engine and trans as a unit. With these 4 spds, it ain't gonna happen. That's when I figured out why he did this. Have to drop the trans, then take out the motor, then repair damage from previous owners stupidity.

Re: People are strange

This board is so educational. Now I know how to remove a 4spd/motor combination.I never would have figured that out and would have gone through all that extra work to separate them.

Doesn't the collar on the shift lever unscrew and the stick pull out of the trans cover on those???? That's what I always did with the stick on my '36 Ford.. It had to be in neutral to do it is all.
