Clutch/Flywheel/Bellhousing Question
Does anyone know if the larger 11" clutch/pressure plate will fit inside the stock bellhousing on a 64-66 C10? I know that you can get a 153 tooth flywheel drilled for both the small 10.4" clutch or the larger 11" clutch, but I want to make sure the larger pressure plate fits inside the bellhousing before purchasing.
I decided to try my 64 C10 for towing my 69 Chevelle on an 18' open trailer, and it worked out quite well, but there was quite a bit of clutch slippage when starting out while facing uphill. I'd like to go to the larger clutch/pressure plate if possible. |

Re: Clutch/Flywheel/Bellhousing Question
It will fit inside the bellhousing but I don't know if it will fit through the opening at the bottom.
I have a 12" in my '65 but the bellhousing needs to be removed from the block to remove / replace; it will not fit through the opening. YMMV |

Re: Clutch/Flywheel/Bellhousing Question
I went with an aftermarket zoom 11" kevlar kit ...fits/works fine with my '65 283cid/sm318 bellhousing. I had a 168tooth fly though... replaced with this heavy RAM billet unit. I only had to clearance the front tin cover for flywheel bolts.

Re: Clutch/Flywheel/Bellhousing Question
I like all the parts. Especially the note to remember to add oil to the tranny...
