Thanks to all who've served! I'm considering going in myself. I usually go honor you guys on this day (parades, centers, etc.), but wasn't able to make it this time.

My late Grandfather was in the Cavalry when World War One broke out (4th/7th Irish Dragoons) as a professional soldier. He lied about his age so that they would send him to France, he was 15 at the time. He took part in the very first action of the war, and went into battle on horseback with a drawn sword against German troops . He survived the whole war despite being wounded several times and gassed (he had no sense of smell afterwards). He was the last surviving person to have been in the very first action of the war. He died aged nearly 94 and still worked everyday from 5am until just before his death (he owned a window cleaning company) I still find him so amazing, and I cannot begin to imagine what he went through. He has now had a book written about him which I treasure greatly.

My other Grandfather served in Italy in WW11.

I have nothing but admiration and respect for anybody who has served their time, and always make a point of observing two minutes silence at 11am on the 11th.

6869704x4, I have a question for ya. Do you know a Major Mike Goodin? Probably a Captain when you instructed him. He messed up a knee and is flyin a desk now. He was my best bro in College. Best man in my wedding. Also, what about a Christina Willard? She is a nav in a special ops 130. Beautiful little gal........she is a Captain now I suppose.
