Bend, OR Craigslist Blazer
http://bend.craigslist.org/car/746248296.html
Not sure if I did the link right but it looks like a pretty nice Blazer for the price. Any of the Bend members know anything about this one? |

Re: Bend, OR Craigslist Blazer
That looks like a great deal for someone. I can't bring another home right now or I'd be living in it.

Buy it! If it looks like that in person I dont think that you could afford not to buy it.

Re: Bend, OR Craigslist Blazer
I think it may be a bit too good to be true? It doesn't have a bunch of picts, but I'd think that would be a $6-8000 Blazer, so unless someone saw it in person I'd wonder if it isn't a scam??

Re: Bend, OR Craigslist Blazer
If thats in good shape its a steal. However, if it has small rust spots here and there then it more than likely has bad rust hiding under the surface..... Still a good buy though, lol.... I've got more than that in mine and its just a pile of parts, lol......

Re: Bend, OR Craigslist Blazer
Just tell her it's a romantic trip to scenic Bend. Take a look at the mountain, stop by sunriver, pickup a blazer – what more could a girl want?

Re: Bend, OR Craigslist Blazer
She does love to go over to Bend. I mentioned something about a Blazer over in Bend and she came back about an hour later and said "did I hear you say we were going to Bend this weekend?" Now if I only had an extra 4 grand laying around.

Re: Bend, OR Craigslist Blazer
I called and talked to the guy and he is supposed to e-mail me some more photos. I asked about the rust and it sounds like the typical Blazer rust, under the battery tray and passenger side fender, and at the back of the bed by the tailgate. He said a previous owner replaced the rockers and some of the floors so I am not sure what that would look like. He has only had it since December. Sounds like he probably bought it cheap and did a little work to it to try to make some money. He said he's done a tune-up, put on a new edelbrock q-jet carb, replaced the ball joints and tie-rod ends up front and put in a new carpet kit. Said it's a pretty clean truck overall has a few dings here and there and the original paint is pretty thin but runs good and has been using it as a daily driver for a few weeks now. Anybody have any thoughts on this? It is really tempting me. My main concern would be the quality of work that was done on the rockers and floors. I will post the pics if he sends them to me.

Re: Bend, OR Craigslist Blazer
The work on the rockers would be my concern too. There's really no way to tell if the rust cut out or just covered with new outer rockers. Also, if it is original paint, was the repaired areas repainted?
I'd low-ball the guy if you decide to go over there.

Re: Bend, OR Craigslist Blazer
I don't think I would buy it unless I could get it for $3500, unless it turned out to be better than I expected.

I agree with bouncy. You'll just have to wait until you get a good look at it.

Re: Bend, OR Craigslist Blazer
I've got pictures. It looks like it has a tach dash and AC, doubt the AC still works though. Interior doesn't look bad at all. A new passenger side fender and grill and you would be good to go. I forgot to ask what kind of shape the top is in.

I was thinking $3,000. Do know how long it's been for sale?

Re: Bend, OR Craigslist Blazer
Not sure, I usually check craigslist every few weeks and this is the first time I have seen it there. The guy said he bought it in Cottage Grove back in December.

Re: Bend, OR Craigslist Blazer
That's a good looking rig. From the pics, I'd say it's worth the $4,000.
What makes you think the A/C doesn't work? Mine works great and it's only a year newer than that one.

Re: Bend, OR Craigslist Blazer
Probably just an assumption. Out of all the AC equipped 67-72 chevy's i've seen only two have had working AC's and I live in TEXAS for crying out loud.

Re: Bend, OR Craigslist Blazer
A lot of older rigs usually seem to have missing AC components or if the AC goes out it seems like nobody ever wants to put money into fixing it since it's not a necessity, especially if you're going topless.

I know one thing, if I had 4k to blow this week I'd be racing you to Redmond and it is a 185 mile straight shot for me.
Tripple black and all the good options make it pretty desireable. |

Re: Bend, OR Craigslist Blazer
Unless the areas that were fixed are absolutely crap, it looks like it would be worth the money to me. Then again, location, location, location.

Re: Bend, OR Craigslist Blazer
That's the problem I'm having. Trying to justify spending the money when I already have a Blazer and the economy sucks. But you only live once, right? Maybe I should just flip a coin and get it over with.

Re: Bend, OR Craigslist Blazer
it has air vents, but non air controls, something not quite right, but looks like a nice rig.
