Back in the game. Got another 72 Blazer
Hey guys, just wanted to say that I'm back in the game. This will be my 4th 1972 Blazer. I have also had one 1971 and one 1972 Jimmy as well as a few trucks. This will be my final one that I hopefuly never sell. My girlfiend and I few from Dallas-Fort Worth last week and drove it back from Colorado. I found it on Denver's Craigslist and it is really nice. The engine (383), trans, suspension and drivetrain have all been rebuilt or new. The interior is great and only one very, very small rust hole in the rocker box. The body is almost perfect, but the paint is weak (orginal). Its has a 4 inch suspension lift and 35 inch tires. I'll be customizing it soon with newer model seats, AC and some other things. Oh yeah, it has a single wall top too. It ran perfect the whole 600+ trip back. I'm really proud of this one and got a great deal on it. Just wanted to say hi and will post pics of progress. Thanks for all the help and advice over the years. I'm sure I'll have more questions to come, Mike

Looks really nice. The paint looks great in the pictures. Got any interior shots?
I thought I was brave driving my truck the 290+ miles from Eugene back when I bought it. I was fairly confident since it was previously owned by to upstanding board members.

Re: Back in the game. Go another 72 Blazer
Man, I'd be hard pressed to touch that, at least from what I see! AC is cool, but if the interior is good, I'd roll that for a while!! I have been preaching to you guys on the other side of the world to get on a plane and do as this member did. It is a leap of faith, but honestly any motor that runs, holds oil pressure, doesn't smoke or miss, and has good belts hoses should make a drive. I have sold no less than 8-10 vehicles through ebay and the board over the last 6-8 years and have never had anyone closer than 1,000 miles, heck one was to Canada 6 hours north of detroit, MI and they drove em home, never a hick-up. I am not the type of person to "get" somebody, but I guess I figure there is more good than bad out there? Am I just nieve? There are some deals in AZ, CA, NV, NM, OR, WA, ID, UT, CO, and a plane ticket and a fun drive home and you could be 10 steps ahead of the game and be making changes so it is "YOUR'S" instead of redoing the whole thing just to make it safe and whole.
Sorry for the book, but sweet Blazer, congrats on your buddies hooking you up and twisting your arm and sweet score, we need more picts!! Last edited by 70rs/ss; 07-22-2008 at 01:01 PM. |
