Re: Do Cab Mount Kits include the metal tube part
All cab kits I have ordered and installed have included the "whole mount', however, I have ordered some that have not included the radiator supports, so double check. Also, most kits I work with do not include bolts, they are seperate, so also check that. I work primarily on classic chevy cars (restorations) so I order alot of this stuff. Good luck.

Re: Do Cab Mount Kits include the metal tube part
The kit should include everything needed to mount the cab, and it should say so in the ad....If the online catalog doesn't specifically say what the kit includes, I would order them elsewhere...

Re: Do Cab Mount Kits include the metal tube part
I just got my Prothane Urethane kit a week ago. It is for a 67-72 3/4 ton. I will list the parts that are re-used.
------------------------------------ #1 mount (Radiator Support): Re-use original bolt and nut #2 mount (Front Cab): Re-use original Sleeve Re-use original bolt and nut #3 mount (Rear Cab): Re-use original Sleeve, must be shortened to 3 3/4" ------------------------------------ All other parts are supplied, at least in my kit.

Re: Do Cab Mount Kits include the metal tube part
Hello, The radiator/core support bushings are different between '67 - '68 models and '69 - '72. The hole size is different on the frame.(1967-1968 are smaller).
They should include sleeves. My kit from energy suspension had 6 sleeves. There is usualy a spacer/washer that you must reuse, I believe the rear cab mounts, my '70 has 2square washers with a 11/16 hole that are not included in the kit. Just keep an eye out for the core support large/small hole. My kit came with the correct ones for a '67-'68 - I am on the hunt for the later(red) |

Photo is of our 67-72 1/2 ton 2wd Cab mounting kit, with the 69-72 Radiator support mounting kit shown just below it. For future refrence on our web site all light blue main descriptions that are underlined are links to photos of the parts if you click them. GMCPaul |

I was going to send this as a PM but you evidently have PM's blocked on your account so I will post it.... With all due respect, he is specifically shopping for a cab mount kit. The cab mount kit heading is not clickable in your on line catalog to be able to see what is in the kit, and the listing does not state what parts are in the kit. "& hardware" can mean just about anything. Maintaining four web sites myself I realize it would be an enormous task to post pictures for every item in the catalog but listing the specific items in the kits is relatively easy and very important. If the description said "Kit Includes New Cushions, bolts/washers/nuts & sleeves" instead of "Kit Includes New Cushions, & hardware" there would be no question and I'm sure the OP would have just went ahead and ordered the kit instead of having to post his question on the board about it.... If everyone were as honest as you obviously are there wouldn't be a problem because everything a person needed would be in the kits. Unfortunately that is not always the case and to some vendors "& hardware" means "washers only". This is not meant to be a flame or bashing of your online catalog but just an observation from a consumer point of view. LockDoc

Re: Do Cab Mount Kits include the metal tube part
Could some of you who have changed yours please tell me if the 2wd 1/2t bushings for the cab are all the same thickness. If not would the thicker ones go in the back or front.
thanks. |

Re: Do Cab Mount Kits include the metal tube part
The front and rear seem to be thinner on the front taller on the rear. The difference seems to be 3/16" - 1/4". I am using a kit from energy suspension and it came with sleeves and washers, all except the rear square ones.

Re: Do Cab Mount Kits include the metal tube part
Thanks Loc-Doc I've added to the descriptions & the # of photos accessable on the page.
72truckster if its a rubber cab mount kit all upper bushings should be the same size. If its poly I can't say as we do not sell poly cab or radiator support kits but I do not see why poly should be thicker on them if they are reproductions as the original cab mounts upper were all the same size on 2wd 1/2 ton, only 3/4ton & 1/2&3/4ton 4X4's used a taller rear mount and this was due to the rear frame mount on them being riveted lower on frame than 2wd 1/2ton frame mounts.
