speedometer gone crazy

Ok in my previous post i could not get my dash lights to work ,solve that problem. see i has the dash cluster out , so i had to unhook the speedo, well got it all back together & now the speedo isnt working right, it gos up to 5mph and thats it. it was working right before , what am i mising here.?.

The first thing I'd do is remove it and reinstall it making sure you're not cross threading it and it's binding. This will keep it from seating all the way.

Then if it still doesn't work, I'd remove it and remove the inside piece and lube it...

I also would bet it's not seated on the back of the speedo. They sometimes can be a pain.
